Compliment those lashes with an at home facial treatment
You have treated yourself to a set of wonderful eyelashes but what about the rest of your face? If you are like most women, you want to look your absolute best. Here at Chicago Lashes, we want to help you achieve the most beautiful you possible.
That’s why our staff came together and came up with several inexpensive yet effective ways to give yourself a facial treatment at home. Below, you will find 3 options to consider that can boost your looks.
Option One: Facial Steam
After washing your face to get rid of makeup and dirt, partially fill a heatproof bowl with boiling water. Allow the water to cool for a few minutes, and then hold your face over the steam, covering your head and the bowl with a towel. If the steam is too hot to inhale or feels as if it is burning your skin, leave the water to cool for a while longer.

Once it is at the right temperature, you are ready to go. Just shut your eyes and remain over the bowl for a few minutes (no more than ten), breathing deeply and relaxing. Make sure you keep your face at least ten inches from the water.
If you wish, add a few drops of essential oils to the water (choose oils that benefit your skin) to make it a spa-like facial sauna. After you have finished steaming, rinse your face with cold water to close the pores, and then apply moisturizer to ensure the skin is hydrated.
A do-it-yourself steam is virtually free, but will open your pores and help remove impurities, rejuvenating your skin. There is a plethora of facial steamers on the market, but there is no need to splurge your money when the above method is simple and effective. Just take care with the boiling water, and make sure the bowl is positioned on a non-slip surface.
Option Two: Homemade Face Mask
Instead of spending your cash on shop-bought face masks, why not make your own from basic kitchen ingredients? Not only will this save you money, but also you will be able to follow the perfect recipe for your skin, ensuring optimum results.
A simple internet search for ‘homemade face masks’ will direct you to a multitude of recipes for different skin types. The right one will leave you with soft and glowing skin. An especially good time to smooth on a mask is immediately after a home facial steam, as the nutrients from it will easily penetrate your skin.
If you don’t feel like making your own concoction at home, you can buy one already made for you. See this page for some of the best face masks to buy online.
Option Three: Ice Water Facial
The idea of plunging your face into a bowl of ice-cold water might make you shiver, but doing so will certainly perk up your appearance. The freezing water gives you an instant facelift by tightening the skin.

Additionally, you will appear and feel more awake afterwards. So, pop some ice cubes into a bowl of cold water and get dunking. If you are not quite brave enough for the ice treatment at first, start by just splashing your face with cold water. It’s like getting rid of anxiety.
For a fraction of the cost of a visit to a luxurious spa, you can easily give your skin a treat at home and really see the results.
